Start my course tomorow.

Friday's polaroids

Friday was a great night. Started off at our place, few drinks. Then off to Fuel for a night of headbanging.
My neck is in agony!

Week1

My room is slowly coming together.
This has got to be my favourite shelf.
Peepshow box set is a must for lazy days!

Freshers

These are the type of flyers you can expect during freshers.
Its safe to say, I havn't been getting wet or wild this week, but I've had a dam good time.

T-birds

Last night me and Em went out to a few bars. Not expecting anything crazy from a Wednesday night I threw a jacket on and a flat pair of pumps.
Went to a bar over the road from my accomodation then headed into town 'Bourbon' is somewhere I've been a few times before, the music is decent and the drink is cheap. We put our jackets down on a sofa and started to dance. After a while we thought about going home, but when we went to get our jackets they were gone.
It was only a fake leather from H&M, not majorly expensive, but i wear it everywhere.
RIP - 'The T-birds'

Favourite boys

My noticeboard is finally starting to take shape.
This has got to be my favourite photo though :)
I'll capture the whole thing once its finnished.

Cloudy weather

There's a free bbq on tonight for Leeds Met and uni students. Free bus and Domino's pizza. The weather outside is less than inviting at the moment so for the time being I'm entertaining myself with leaflets.

Ghostbusters

First night out in Leeds. Drank in a ship. Witnessed Emily be charged £9.20 for a bottle of cider.
Danced until a circle formed around us. 'I just want to spin you round' . Requested ghostbusters, was declined. All in all great night! :)

Bier Keller

Well I've sniffed out the local Bierkeller.
Happy real ale times :)

Letting go

After realising the ridiculous amount of keys I had. I decided it was time to lose a few. I won't be needing the car much longer and I won't be visting mums place for quite a while.
Dad's place is my home and Leeds halls will be my new place of residence.
I might feel a little lighter without all the extra metal...

Fun snaps Ahoy!

Mark came round this evening, after work.
I'm moving out tomorow morning and might not see him for a week or two.
He had a present under his arm and I opened it to discover my very own Polaroid camera!! I was so touched. Besides Felix its one of the most thoughtful presents I've ever recieved.

I think I'll name him Percy

Only a week or so ago I'd mentioned that i wanted to start using film and developing. A Polaroid is deffinately a step in the right direction and they're so fun!

10sheets of film per pack I'll have to chose my shots really carefully.
Of course I needed one of us for my noticeboard at uni. I love this photo and the polaroid quality Dam I'm going to miss him.

Leaving gift

I saw mums friend Lou today.
We met up so I could give her the final major project that I completed during my foundation course.
A handmade book of photographs and text. She gave me the content for and I eddited and bound it together.I'm glad Its gone to a good home.
She gave me this lovely journal for thoughts, poems and sketches. I'm sure it will be put to good use.

Pink Lady

"An apple a day keeps the doctor away"
My year 13 psychology folder.

Something old something new

Today I visted mums place to collect a few last bits for uni. I found this old stamp pad I had as a kid. I remember stamping my name into all my books and on practically everything I owned.
The sponge had gone all rotten and the ink certainly wasn't as 'inky' as it should be. I scraped the contents out and gave it a clean. Its still a nice little link to yester years.

11 key Janitor

Yesterday Mark took me to collect my accomodation keys and move a few things into my new room :) I'm staying at Opal accomodation, Leeds and now I've seen it in 'the flesh' I can't wait to move in.
I'll be sharing a flat with 3 others and the whole building houses around 1000 students.

Roll on Freshers!

Packing

3 of the most important books..

Unemployed

My last shift was Sunday. 9:00am-5:30pm.
After working at Size this summer, I was actually sad to be leaving. Its been more than just a job, its been something to get up for in the morning, not allowing me to mope around like a useless artical.

I got this deck from the assistant manager.
I know my brother has his eye on it, but I'd like to keep it as a little souvenir/wall decoration.

Nuit Blanche

Parcel goodies

Just a few of my pacrel goodies. I lovvvvve new socks. (Maybe I need to get a life)

The Sweed's are sweet

I love getting parcels! :)
This was a package I recieved from Sweeden. My aunty Jen and cousins Elin + Sigrid sent me a goody bag of luxurys and essentials for university.
Including a new top, pencil's, toothbrushes, socks, the sequel to my current read, vitamins, toiletries, nail varnish and some other lovely treats.

Sequins and clutch

Retired clothes.
Out of the closet

Someone to take in the mail

Up until now its been possible to imagine that she's on an extended holiday.
But the letters are mounting up.
I went over to collect pillows + kitchen equiptment for moving out.
The house was so quiet.
I fell asleep in her bed, with two pillows beside me. It felt asif she was lying there with me.
I cleared out the freezer, made sure the back door was secure and left.
I guess it's not my home anymore and I'm just someone to take in the mail.

Norman

If this car had a name it would be Norman! (No it isn't mine)
I love obscure vechiles like this, it reminds me of something off 'the busy world of Richard Scary' if anyone has ever seen that super old cartoon.

I'm going to miss my bike rides in Birkenhead Park.

Kelly

'Kelly' is the car I reluctantly learnt to drive in. She's an old Peroduca Kelisa, with dents in her back side and a failing exhaust - there are speed bumps all the way down our road and I swear its only a matter of time before it falls off completely.
Regaurdless of her inperfections, I love her to bits.
Just another example of my mums spare of the moment purchases.
I'll be fixing her up and selling her very soon :(

Packing

Dresses that have been retired for the best part of 12months, alcohol, shot glasses and my beloved Breakfast at Tiffany's dvd.

A year flys by!

I've Just recieved my critical studies exam results in the post. I'm glad it shows my abilty to write a half decent essay, and it's allowed me to reflect positively on the year.

Its amazing to think that this time last year I was starting my first day at LCC. Joining the exhilarating world of the art foundation crack pots.
I can honestly say its been one of the most benificial years of my life(so far).
After deciding not to study Literature at university. I took a year to gain an foundation diploma in art and design before applying for a degree in graphic design.
While I was studying Theology, English and pyschology a-levels I never thought I would get there, but after enrolling in the college and completing my first assessment I knew it was within reach.
Deciding on a specialism has been the reasuring thing about choosing a creative path: combining photography, type design and illustration is everything I love. I have deffinately had my doubts and wobbles along the way but after several university interviews I've certainly grown in confidence.

I guess this blog is a combination of my creative outlets/thoughts, I'm glad that I've documented some of my journey, and hope that I can continue to produce the stuff that makes me happy.

Music makes the world go round

It feels unatural not to post a photo with this entry but maybe I can break the mould.

MUSIC
I've been pretty out of touch for a while now. After losing my 80GB Classic pod last year I rarely bother updating the nano.
However someone that has really caught my attention recently is Ben Howard. After hearing keep your head up and depth over distance I was hooked. I'd been searching for tour dates for a while with no luck, after looking again tonight discovered he's playing in Leeds 18th October.
Booked straight away of course.
He's sold out in Exeter, Falmouth, Brighton, Bristol, Manchester, Oxford, Glasgow.
So if you fancy going to see this beautiful creature, get your skates on!
