Catcher in the Rye

"I was half in love with her by the time we sat down. That's the thing about girls. Every time they do something pretty, even if they're not much to look at, or even if they're sort of stupid, you fall half in love with them, and then you never know where the hell you are. Girls. Jesus Christ. They can drive you crazy. They really can."

Fire and Ice - Robert Frost

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire

And would suffice.

St Ives - 'No big deal thing'

Lilly van der stokker
'Where was it written that art had to be deep and meaningful, can't art just be simple, or nice and...cheerful?' This really sums up the essense of her work. I like that she questions our perceptions about what art "should" be and strives to create something new fresh and unexpected.

Nothing Gold Can Stay - Robert Frost

Her hardest hue to hold.

But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

Mannequin

Face like a mannequin smooth and unrevealing No bruises to show, the pain is deep within. Shiny, hard and plastic she’s learnt to hide it well, on a mission for perfection she’s fallen under the spell. Legs like pins, fragile limbs, she dances on broken heels. Her cross to bear, unwilling to share, her friend her foe, her secret.
